Been a show jumper since she was just a 6-year-old, Peyton Lambert was no stranger to horses. However she switched on to polo when she moved to UK from USA. Having been told that the adrenaline rush in polo is of a different level , she couldn’t resist the temptation to give it a try. The rumour that polo clubs have much more happening parties wasn’t a demotivating factor either. Peyton , to her delight, found out that both the aspects about polo were equally true.
An HPA -2, Peyton is currently playing for University of London Polo Club. She primarily plays at Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club, but previously she has played for St Andrews. Whenever back in Scotland she can be seen at Kinross Polo Club, honing her skills and competing. Currently in London, but Peyton is moving to the U.S soon. Therefore , presently she is in the process of transitioning to a club in New York.
As per her, ponies are very much teammates and there has to be a mutual trust there; they trust you to keep them safe, out of unnecessarily dangerous positions, and you trust them to listen to you, to stay calm and steady. Make you reach where you want to reach , in time, and allow you to take the desired shot , comfortably.
Moving forward, Peyton just wants to keep bringing all of her skills to a higher level. It’s a long process and one can’t rush it. Considering that she has only been playing for 2 years, there is a lot of ground Peyton has covered and she intends to make the learning graph steeper. As of now she is excited about moving back to the States and looks forward to keep playing, because at the end of the day, it’s the most fun one can have.
